So, after reading Brianne's blog (www.briannelh.blogspot.com) I decided that I needed to make one of my own haha. So here it is! Normally I'll just talk about how my day has been, and talk about interesting stuff that's happened to me lately, but not this time. I've been thinking a lot about how blessed I am to be surrounded by such amazing people, so I'm going to talk about them a bit, because I like bragging about them.
The last year or so has been ROUGH, I can honestly say that I wouldn't have made it through it all if it wasn't for my amazing parents. Mom and Dad, I love you both more than you could ever know. For those of you that know my parents, you know that they're some of the most amazing people on the planet. The extent of their generosity, compassion, and sarcasm is immeasurable. haha. They've just been so supportive of me in every facet of my life. They're always there, ready to share their wisdom and experiences, and honestly, I'm a better person for it. Love you guys. Thanks.
So I absolutely hate it when people nag me and bug me about "little" things, like life and college and my future. haha. My brother, Bryan, and his wife, Tonya, have spent the last five years of their lives pestering me about school, getting a job, getting my life started. Hardly a year ago I would have gotten mad and hung up on them or told them to leave me alone when they called to check up on what I was doing and stuff. Nowadays I just smile, and thank God that I have two people in my life that are so dedicated to making sure I succeed. Thank you both so much, I won't let you guys down. Love ya.
I would love to sit here and write pages about each and every one of my friends, but I'm kind of tired and no one has the kind of time it would take to read all of that. So I'll keep it short. I can't believe how lucky I am to have all of these amazing people in my life. You guys may not realize it, and I may not say it enough, but I appreciate every little thing you guys do for me, and I love you all. So let's go... We got Kyle, who is currently serving a mission in Baltimore with the Mormon church. Not having him around is hard, ever since I met him way back in the day he's been looking out for me and making sure I don't get in trouble, but getting out on my own has been a good learning experience. Still, I can't wait for him to come so we can go to school!!! Haha. Next! Jon, you're the little brother I always wanted bro. I'm so proud of you. You got out of Vegas and into the Navy and before you know it, you and Gabi will be getting married. I'm happy for you guys and wish you nothing but the best. Just like you've always been there for me, I'm always here for you. Brianne!!!! You're an amazing person. You've got the type of strength that inspires the people around you. You never let ANYTHING hold you back from doing what you want to do. If you ever need anything, you know where to find me. Palma!!! Palma is awesome... I mean come on... his name is Palma Palma. Haha just kidding. But no really, what's Palma's first name?!?! Haha. You're an amazing guy bro. Thank you for all the advice... and driving me around. Ohana for life bro! Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd. Will. Dude... Where was this guy back in high school? William is everything I think of when I think of America. He grew up in El Salvador and then moved here, now he's a UNITED STATES MARINE! His love for his country and his sense of honor and duty show what kind of person he is. He's a lot like Jon in a way. They both spend the majority of their time messing around and cracking jokes, but when it comes down to it, they know what's up. I sleep soundly at night because I know there's people like Jon and Will on the watch.
Okay... So that was kind of long. Haha. Last, but most certainly not least. Would have to be my AMAZING girlfriend Breanne. First things first, she's not getting mentioned because she's my girlfriend, she's getting mentioned because when I'm having a crappy day, no one can make me smile like she can. She's just an AWESOME person to have in your life. She's so funny and smart and dorky (she'll deny that last one).
Haha okay. I'm done now. One last thing though, I've got a couple of Hawaiian friends and let me tell you... their culture rubs off on people haha. Part of their culture is the word, 'Ohana, it means family, and the people you care for. I've always loved this part of the Hawaiian culture. It perfectly describes how I feel about all the people I mentioned here. Family.
Now I'm done.
